Six students from BBA (Accounting) year 4 had successfully entered the Hong Kong Final of the EY HK Tax Competition 2014. The Department is proud of their achievement, in particular their effort and commitment to making this happen.
EY’s Young Tax Professional of the Year is an international competition designed to identify young talents with an interest in tax and to help them enhance their skills and develop their careers. The competition also gives participants the opportunity to share experiences with people from a range of backgrounds and cultures.
The semi-final round of the competition was completed in early March, where 40 students were shortlisted (including 6 HSMC students). The Hong Kong Final was completed on 4 April 2014. HSMC students joined the group discussions in the first round and Tweety was selected as one of top 8 finalists to give her individual presentation in the second round.
LUK Hiu Ying, Crystal, another Accountancy student, was the top 10 finalists in the same competition in 2013. She joined the competition this year (2014) again, and is also one of the six Hong Kong finalists.
